Three days, six-and-a-half kilometres and 10,000 entrants. 1,001 prizes up for grabs including a Renault Twingo for the best dressing up costume, mother and daughter duo, or group of friends running together. It’s all at the all-girl La Parisienne road run, in aid of breast cancer research and awareness.

The Techno Parade, a celebration of electromusic and culture, returns to Paris this month on September 15. The parade features 100 DJs travelling on 20 floats, playing and dancing to house, techno, trance, hardcore and drum and bass music. It is organised by Technopol, an association for ‘the defense, recognition and promotion of electro-culture’.

A sale of 60 tons of fruit and vegetables was held in Paris by the agricultural trade union Modef last month, to protest against the high profit margins on fruit and vegetables in supermarkets. According to the union, these are harming producers while raising the price for the consumer.
