From December 18-30, at the
Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, the
exhibition ‘Place des Arts... La
Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres’
is dedicated to the makers of the
delicate Sèvres porcelain and
ceramics. Curator David Caméo
has assembled items from the
18th century to today, from the
factory which was created in
Versailles in 1740 and moved to
Sèvres in 1756. Pieces are on
display from the Palais Princier
collection, including Napoleonic
plates, and some rare creations
from the private collection of M.
Robert Zehil. Pedagogic and esthetic in equal measure, this
exhibition is a must for smashing-pottery lovers.
