The Fête de l’Ane Catalan takes place on Sept 16 at
Baillestavy, a small village of the Pyrénées Orientales, in one
valley of the Canigou. There will be donkeys, a market of
farm produce and local craftsmanship. Activities and games
for the children as well as rides on the donkeys.

Leading the region which boasts the record for creating the
most jobs in France last year – 2.7% more jobs than the
national average – the city and agglomération is forging
ahead with its Incubator scheme.
Montpellier recently signed a co-operation agreement
with similar organisations in New York and Seattle. Earlier in
the year, the city was given two awards in the US, the most
prestigious being the ‘First In the World for Business
Support’ by the National Business Incubations Association
of America.

The 5.4km Embrun
bypass on the RN94,
along the valley of the
Durance river, is set to open
in November.
Vehicles will be able to
travel from Gap and the A51
motorway from Marseille, to
Briançon and the Italian
border via the Montgenèvre
Pass, without disturbing
Embrun’s 6,700-plus
residents.
