It was an exciting finish to the Roxy Women’s World Longboard title.
Catharine Higginson reports
The 2007 Roxy ASP Women’s
World Longboard Title was won
by Jennifer Smith (USA), after a
fiercely fought final with teenage
Justine Dupont (FRA).
Dupont, taking part in her first ever
professional contest, was the wild card
of the event, defeating Crystal Dzigas
(HAW) in the semi-final, with a score
of 15.50 out of a possible 20, the
highest heat score of the day. The
previously unknown 15-year-old has
now taken her place among the best
female longboard riders in the world
and is sure to be a future contender for
the world title.
