The State statistics body INSEE
Aquitaine has just published its
report on the region’s economy
for the year 2006.

Emile, one of the two brood males
Scientists from the Institute of Research in Agriculture and
Environmental Engineering (CEMAGREF) in Bordeaux
have bred the first artificially-reproduced European sturgeon.
These fish are reared in captivity, and their reproduction is
vital now that wild sturgeon are so rare. It has taken 20 years
to achieve this breakthrough. In a few years, mature brood
fish will be freed into the rivers and will hopefully re-stock
the wild sturgeon population.

mind that this was his chosen
medium.
Lhote was one of the
group of artists who,
between 1910 and 1912,
helped launch the modern art
revolution through cubism.
