If you are, have been or always wanted to be a hippy, Matha, in Charente-Maritime, between August 9 and 12, is the place to rekindle the spirit of the period. Starting with a free openair showing of ‘Pink Floyd on the Wall’, there will be three evenings of musical tributes to major bands Genesis, Santana, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and Joe Cocker. This year’s festival, the fourth organised by the French- British association Nous and You of Matha, will also have a market area, and a ‘Village Ecologique,’ with discussions on renewable energies, global warming, recycling, and exhibition stands.
