It has not taken Nicolas Sarkozy long to discover the joys of his bachelor status and the accompanying press interest. Internet gossip reveals a liaison with a cabaret singer from Bosnia, Tinka Milinovic. All was revealed in the journals ‘Bljesak’ and ‘Oslobodenje’. Disappointingly, ‘all’ turned out to be a crude and distinctly chaste photo montage.

Meanwhile, his visit to China coincided with the publication there of his political and autobiographical treatise ‘Témoignage’, causing a storm of hilarity and mirth in the host country’s media. In the chapter on his relationship with his now ex-wife, the then candidate wrote “Today Cécilia and I are back together for good, for real, without doubt for ever.”
