Use a thoroughly clean and dry washing-up liquid container as a puffer to blow dust from
ornaments. Or, for watering hanging baskets or as a water pistol for kids in summer.
A plastic drinks bottle filled with water and put in the toilet cistern will save water when
flushing. Or cut in half for keeping celery or carrot sticks crisp (half fill with water and ice
cubes, stand the sticks in the water and keep in the fridge).
The top can be used as a funnel. or, inverted over a seedling, a mini-greenhouse.
Bottles with handles moulded into the plastic can be cut diagonally to make useful scoops.
