New Channel-side cricket club Print E-mail
Thursday, 10 April 2008
A cricket club is being set up at Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, between Avranches and Granville. It will be the first such club on this side of the Channel. The idea is to find enough players to make up a team capable of facing up to other nearby teams in Brittany and particularly to  arrange a ‘show’ match against the French team on August 15.
A scenic ground has been found in the centre of the village of Saint-Jean in the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. Th organisers now only need more volunteers to help organise the club and players of any level. Later on, the club plans to introduce young local people to get the French interested in the game.
