Franco-American journalist Teia Maman left home at 15 to sail the Pacific, getting to know and love the sea. Six years later, she settled down (somewhat) in Hawaii, to windsurf and earn three diplomas at the University of Hawaii (yes, a real university!) She married a Frenchman, and after visiting France 16 times, she decided to buy a one-way ticket and stay. Teia now raises her two sons in les Landes, in a country cottage with a pond in the backyard. She's published over 170 articles and short stories in magazines and fine newspapers like French News, and has translated 12 books. In her few spare moments, she paints folding screens...
