“Probably born with poised pencil in one hand and open notebook in the other, I’ve written for as long as I can remember. Journals, school newspapers, freebie newspapers, before moving to work for BBC North Regional Radio based in Manchester, covering the whole of the north of England for BBC External Services. In those days, John Humphries was a junior reporter working out of Liverpool!
A move to Suffolk in 1980 took me to BBC Radio Suffolk working in news,
studio production and presentation, alongside John Eley, the jolly
Cooking Canon, to name but another.
France and Deux-Sevres beckoned in 2001, from where I suggested to our
FN Editor that I bring Number 79 to the attention of the outside
world. In general, if you want to read about it, I’ll write about it
(well, most things!), tracking down news and events, camera and notepad
in hand.”
