![]() Born in England, spirited to the USA by uncaring parents, he wrote his first newspaper column at 14, discovered the soul of America and ran screaming back to Europe, worked as a journalist and minorleague rockstar in London, and teamed up with Jeanne Livingstone to report on a 10-year cruise on the Med. Deciding that the choice of Greek cheeses was insufficient, he went to live in France – at first in the South, where he broke his back tending 8,000 vines, and now in the West, where he drinks the result and watches over Poitou for his beloved editor Miranda. A keen music-lover, he avoids Star Ac like the plague it is. Put a camera in his hand and he is the Master of the Universe – or at least acts like it. |
