 “After a career which started in journalism and ended running a successful Fleet Street marketing and PR consultancy for more than 25 years, I retired to Provence in 1995. A couple of years later I chanced on a copy of what was then ‘The News’ and, noting that there was no coverage of this part of France, offered my services. I have been writing from the Var (and, at various times, the Vaucluse, the Alpes-Maritimes, Monaco and the PACA region generally) ever since. Relating provincial concerns to national and sometimes international ones is what makes this kind of local journalism a continuing challenge and fascination.” |
