Grahame’s career in the wine trade started in 1969. By 1972, he had
gained the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Diploma, followed by
the practical part of the Master of Wine in 1975.
He formally retired to France in 1999 but stayed current by teaching
and translating wine articles. He is a member of the Circle of Wine
Writers and an Associate of the Institute of Wines and Spirits. “I joined
French News in 2001 as the Wine and Cheese correspondent, also covering
news from Burgundy and now the Alps. My most harrowing French
News experience was in June 2006 at the Free Flight Festival in
Lambin (38) when, as passenger in a hot-air balloon, we landed on
a lake and literally water-skied the last 50 metres to the shore.”
